The Historical Art Hall proposes a journey through more than 500 years of art –from the 15th to the 20th century– represented in the museum's collection, mainly from the 19th century.
It contains many works by important artists such as El Greco, Rubens, Guido Reni, Alonso Cano, Ykens, Carreño de Miranda and Fortuny, as well as well-known Basque artists such as Valentín Zubiaurre, Iturrino, Olasagasti, Regoyos, etc.
Alongside this central core and crowning it on both sides, there are two differentiated spaces, the Zuloaga Hall and the Ortiz Echagüe Hall. Both spaces, which existed before and have been remodelled, are devoted exclusively to these two outstanding artists in the history of the museum, due to the importance of the donation of their works within the San Telmo collections as a whole.
